Short answer

How much does an EOR cost in Vietnam?

An employer of record in Vietnam costs a monthly service fee per employee on top of the salary and the employer’s statutory contributions of about 23.5%. International EOR platforms publish fees of about US$199 to US$699 per employee per month: Skuad and RemoFirst from US$199, Playroll from US$399, Multiplier from US$459, Deel and Remote from US$599 and Oyster US$699. Nhân Kiệt’s EOR fee is US$99 to US$199 per employee a month, plus VAT on the fee, so before VAT our highest fee equals the lowest published platform starting price. For a Vietnamese employee on ₫30,000,000 gross, the total monthly cost with Nhân Kiệt is about ₫39.7–42.3 million, against about ₫52.8 million with a US$599 platform fee.

Work-permit costs for foreign hires, if any, are quoted separately.

Included in the fee
  • Labour contract in Vietnamese and English
  • Monthly payroll in dong, payslips and PDF payslips
  • Social, health and unemployment insurance registration
  • Personal income tax filing and year-end finalisation
  • Employee web app: payslips, documents and messages
  • Onboarding and offboarding under the Labour Code

EOR pricing models

How EOR pricing works: three models.

EOR fees are quoted in three main ways. The model matters as much as the headline number, because it decides how the fee moves when salaries change.

EOR pricing models compared
ModelHow it worksGood forWatch for
Flat fee per employeeThe same monthly amount for every employee, e.g. US$599Senior, well-paid rolesExpensive for typical Vietnam salaries; the fee can exceed the employer’s contributions
Percentage of salaryA share of gross salary or of total employment costJunior rolesCosts rise quickly for senior hires; check what the percentage is applied to
Range with a ceiling (Nhân Kiệt)US$99–199 depending on salary, never above US$199Typical Vietnam salaries at every levelConfirm the exact fee per employee in the quote

Industry pricing guides commonly put percentage-based EOR fees at around 8–20% of gross salary and flat fees at around US$200–700 per employee per month, often with one-off setup charges. Always convert every quote into a monthly figure per employee at your real salaries before you compare.

Hidden EOR fees

Fees that do not appear in the headline price.

  • Security deposits — some providers hold one month’s salary or more for each employee, tying up cash for the whole engagement.
  • Setup or onboarding fees — a one-off charge per new employee.
  • Exchange-rate margins — when you pay in US$ and salaries are paid in dong, a margin on the conversion adds cost every month.
  • Offboarding or termination fees — a charge when an employee leaves, on top of statutory final pay.
  • Minimum terms — a 12-month commitment, or a higher price for month-to-month billing.
  • Benefit markups — private health insurance or allowances invoiced above their real cost.
  • Payroll change and correction fees — charges for off-cycle payments, bonuses or corrected payslips.
  • Annual price increases — check whether the fee is fixed for the contract term.

Ask every provider to put each of these in writing, with a yes or no. Our quote lists salary, every statutory contribution and the service fee as separate lines.

Foreign employees

What a foreign employee costs.

A foreign employee with a work permit and a labour contract of 12 months or more joins social and health insurance but not unemployment insurance, so the employer pays about 20.5% of the contribution salary, which stops at ₫50,600,000. For a foreign manager on ₫80,000,000 a month, employer contributions are about ₫10,373,000, for about ₫90,373,000 a month before the EOR fee. Work-permit and residence-card costs are quoted separately. See work permits in Vietnam.

EOR vs your own entity

Is an EOR cheaper than opening a company in Vietnam?

For a small team, usually yes. Your own entity replaces per-employee EOR fees with fixed costs that you pay whether you employ one person or fifty.

Cost factors: EOR and your own Vietnamese entity
EORYour own entity
SetupNone; first hire in daysInvestment and enterprise registration, about 1–3 months
Fixed running costsNoneRegistered office, accountant and chief accountant, bank, annual audited financial statements, tax filings

An entity tends to pay off once the team is large and permanent and you need to invoice Vietnamese customers locally. Until then, an EOR keeps cost tied to headcount.

Comparing EOR quotes

Five questions that change the real price.

  • Is a deposit required? Some platforms hold one month’s salary or more as a refundable security deposit for each employee.
  • Which exchange rate is used? If you are invoiced in US$ and the salary is paid in dong, ask how the conversion is priced.
  • Is the Vietnam price the list price? “Starting from” fees can be higher for some countries or for month-to-month billing.
  • Who is the legal employer in Vietnam? Ask for the name and registration number of the company that signs the labour contract.
  • Are onboarding, offboarding and payslip corrections included? Check whether one-off fees apply when someone joins or leaves.

Questions

EOR cost, fees and pricing in Vietnam: FAQ

How much does an employer of record cost in Vietnam?

International EOR platforms publish fees of about US$199 to US$699 per employee per month, as listed on their pricing pages on 22 October 2026. Nhân Kiệt’s EOR fee is US$99 to US$199 per employee per month, plus VAT on the fee. Salary and the employer’s statutory contributions of about 23.5% are paid on top with every provider.

What is the cheapest EOR in Vietnam?

Among the providers compared on this page, Nhân Kiệt has the lowest published fee: US$99 to US$199 per employee per month before VAT. Skuad and RemoFirst publish starting prices of US$199. Compare quotes at your real salaries, including deposits and exchange-rate margins.

What is Nhân Kiệt’s EOR fee?

US$99 to US$199 per employee per month, plus VAT on the fee. The exact fee depends on the employee’s salary and is confirmed in your quote before you sign. Salary and statutory contributions pass through at cost.

What is the total cost of employing someone in Vietnam through an EOR?

Gross salary plus about 23.5% employer contributions plus the EOR fee. For a ₫30,000,000 gross salary that is ₫37,050,000 a month before the EOR fee, or about ₫39.7–42.3 million with Nhân Kiệt’s fee before VAT.

Are EOR fees a percentage of salary?

It depends on the provider. Many charge a flat fee per employee, some charge a percentage of salary, and Nhân Kiệt charges a fee between US$99 and US$199 that depends on the salary and never exceeds US$199.

Is VAT charged on EOR fees in Vietnam?

Nhân Kiệt’s fee excludes VAT, and VAT is added on the service fee only, not on salary or statutory contributions.

Do EOR providers charge setup or deposit fees?

Some do. Playroll and Oyster mention refundable deposits on their pricing pages, and some providers charge one-off setup or offboarding fees. Ask for every one-off charge in writing before you sign.

How much does a foreign employee cost through an EOR in Vietnam?

The employer pays about 20.5% in social and health insurance on salary up to ₫50,600,000, plus the EOR fee and work-permit costs. A foreign manager on ₫80,000,000 costs about ₫90,373,000 a month before the EOR fee.

Is an EOR cheaper than setting up a company in Vietnam?

For small teams, usually yes, because an entity carries fixed costs such as a registered office, accountants, audited financial statements and tax filings, and takes about 1–3 months to set up. An entity tends to pay off for large, permanent teams.

Why are EOR fees lower with a local provider?

A Vietnam-only employer such as Nhân Kiệt employs staff through its own licensed Vietnamese company and does not run a multi-country platform, so it can charge less than a flat global rate.
